In Variations on Light and Color, Ann Gardner continues her decades long exploration of the capability of glass as a medium. She has expanded her color palette in her glass cluster series, bringing in warmth and earth tones to balance the cools of her water inspired bubble forms

“I have been returning to glass over the past thirty years and the thing that continues to draw me back is the material itself; the transparency of the glass, the overlapping of the colors and the textures. The possibilities and combinations are thrilling to me. The light moves from one piece of glass through another, creating incredible layers of color and texture. The work in this show explores this mixing and the slight nuances that are a result.”

Ann Gardner has won numerous awards, and her work is included in numerous major collections, including the National Museum of American Art, the American Craft Museum, the Corning Museum of Glass, the Racine Art Museum, the Detroit Institute of the Arts, and the Seattle Art Museum.
