For decades Ann Gardner has returned to glass as a medium. In Variations on Light and Color, Gardner continues her exploration into the capabilities of glass in sculptural and mosaic form.
“I have been returning to glass off and on over the past thirty years and the thing that continues to draw me back is the material itself; the transparency of the glass, the overlapping of the colors and the textures. The possibilities and combinations are thrilling to me. The light moves from one piece of glass through another, creating incredible layers of color and texture. The work in this show explores this mixing and the slight nuances that are a result.”
