Winston Wächter Fine art is pleased to present Seattle glass artist Ann Gardner's new solo exhibition, The Color of Light.
In The Color of Light Gardner investigates the mystery and physical presence of light. These works capture light as both a subject and a collaborator, revealing shifting perceptions as viewers move through the space.
Gardner’s latest work exhibits her distinctive approach to glass, combining traditional craftsmanship with experimental composition. Known for sculptural and architectural installations, Gardner’s practice focuses on the interaction between material, light, and viewer. Each piece functions as both object and experience, inviting viewers to observe how light shifts, reflects, and reveals hidden layers within.
Gardner will also be showing a series of paper works, continuing the conversation between light and viewer with a wholly new material. These wall mounted pieces at first appear to be reflections on water, transposed to interior spaces, but are delicate sculpted paper abstractions upon closer inspection. Gardner’s relationship to both water and light create parallel but separate conversation in this exhibition as they interplay with each other.
“My work investigates the mystery of light, reflection, movement, transparency, color, and texture,” Gardner says. “Light translates and interprets these qualities using blown glass, glass mosaic, and paper in non-traditional ways.”
