Winston Wächter Fine Art is pleased to announce the opening of Pop of Color!, a group exhibition featuring the work of Erich Woll, Donald Sultan, Susan Dory, Christopher Boffoli, Julie Speidel, and Tracy Rocca. This exhibition will present highlights from the gallery’s collection and give visitors a chance to discover works that they may not have seen before. Please join us for the opening reception on Tuesday, July 22 from 6 – 8 pm.

Inspired by long summer days and bright sunshine, Winston Wächter has assembled a variety of colorful works to celebrate the season. On view will be a mixture of styles and mediums, from sculpture and glass to photography and painting. Principal among the works on view will be those by renowned pop artist Donald Sultan, whose homages to lantern flowers speak to Seattle’s abundance of gardens.

Other artists will include Tracy Rocca and Susan Dory, who create brilliantly colored abstractions by applying thin layers of paint on panel. Both artists achieve luminous and light-filled works that reflect the tenor of the exhibition. Additionally, northwest artist Christopher Boffoli’s photographs of hand-painted figurines in staged arrangements of food and beverages will bring a wry eye and whimsical regard to the event. Another humor-minded artist to be included is Erich Woll. His long tenure in the glass hotspot of the Pacific Northwest has made him one of the region’s most well known glass artists. Finally, Julie Speidel’s monumental and brightly hued glaciers will be on display. An artist interested in northwest geological events and the natural world, Speidel’s steel and fire engine red glaciers will surely inspire visitors to get outside and celebrate summer.
