Seattle artist Michael Schultheis has been exhibiting with Winston Wächter Fine Art for 20 years. We are proud and excited to share his latest body of work, Coherence in Chaos.
At the heart of the exhibition is the epicycloid—a curve created as one circle rolls around another. As its geometry changes, so do its possibilities. A single center suggests an individual discovering inner coherence. Two centers evoke the dynamic balance of a relationship. Multiple centers speak to families, communities, and societies, where countless lives influence one another while remaining connected. The mathematics becomes a portrait of relationship itself: each new center reshapes the whole without breaking its unity.

Michael Schultheis is included in public and private collections, including the National Academy of Sciences, National Museum of Mathematics, The Mathematical Association of America, City of Seattle, City of Portland, Seattle University, University of Washington, and Tacoma Art Museum. He has exhibited in the US Embassy to the EU, US Embassy to Greece and US Embassy to Switzerland, Oregon State University, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Washington State University, and Shenzhen Art Institute in Shenzhen, China.
