Troy House’s photographs capture the calm and unbothered nature of beachside life. The Brooklyn photographer works around the world, shooting for fashion and advertising companies, passing time at coastal communities, and expertly documenting local culture as a cosmopolitan traveler. His fine art prints focus on the pastel sheen of rustic European architecture, the hypnotic sparkle of sun-soaked water, and the inexplicable calm of people gathered in communal recreation. In Clarity, House captures endless rows of umbrellas perched between rocky outcroppings and hillside villas, finding tranquility in the crowds. His compositions favor a pleasantly disinterested gaze, immersing the viewer as yet another figure in a sea of locals and tourists lounging in the passing breeze.

Born in 1968, Troy House studied architecture at Iowa State University and shot for Associated Press. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in photography, working in lifestyle, luxury, and travel industries, before relocating in New York to continue his work in advertising and further his work in the fine arts. House’s photography has been exhibited in Miami, New York, California, and Canada, and he has been featured in various publications including The New York Times, Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, and Allure.
